According to a statement issued by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles (CCCT), the exhibition saw participation from leading Chinese textile and apparel enterprises as well as Australian apparel firms who displayed various goods at the expo.

The three-day exhibition was opened by the Chinese Consul General in Melbourne Mr. Song Yumin, and Chinese Consulate General in Sydney Commercial Office Counselor Peng Gang, along with CCCT vice president Wang Yu.

During his keynote speech, the CCCT vice president discussed the bilateral trade relations between the two countries and the opportunities such exhibitions present for extending trade relations, especially in the textiles and apparel sector.

The exhibition, co-organized by CCCT, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the Jiangsu provincial government, Shandong provincial government and Shandong department of commerce, saw participation from nearly 120 delegates, including 50 textile and apparel sector representatives from Australia, and 60 representatives from the Chinese textiles sector.

The participating firms displayed various products such as fabrics, menswear, womenswear, home textiles, headgears and clothing accessories, as well as other kinds of textile and apparel products. Australian firms showcased products such as lightweight waterproof and windproof outdoor clothing and cotton textile products at the expo.
