Universal to source DuPont Sorona to produce carpet fiber

Universal Fibers and DuPont Industrial Biosciences (DuPont) announced a collaboration to produce and market carpet fiber using DuPont Sorona renewably sourced polymer. The scope of the collaboration includes sales into the commercial, residential and automotive market segments. DuPont will provide its Sorona polymer to Universal Fibers for their use in producing carpet fiber to be marketed and sold under the Universal Fibers brand with DuPont Sorona.

Universal Fibers' CEO Marc Ammen said, "We are extremely pleased and excited to enhance our diverse product offering with DuPont Sorona. For more than 40 years, Universal Fibers has been an industry leader in the development and production of sustainable high performance solution dyed fiber in multiple polymers. The addition of DuPont Sorona supports this steadfast commitment, and broadens our capabilities using solution dyed technology with our best in class Universal Color system. This further supports our mission as innovative problem solvers, providing the global marketplace with superior service, color, performance, stain resistance, and renewable sustainability.”
