ASF prices remain stable in Northeast Asia last fortnight

The prices of acrylic staple fibre (ASF) remained stable in Northeast Asian markets last fortnight ending November 15, 2013.

The average price of ASF 1.5 Denier was assessed at US$ 2.35/kg in the last fortnight, which was unchanged as compared to the previous fortnight. However, the price was 3.69 percent lower than the US$ 2.44/kg recorded during the comparable period last year.

The average price of ASF 3 Denier was assessed at US$ 2.31/kg in the last fortnight, same as the previous fortnight.

In the Chinese domestic market, the spot prices of ASF 1.5 Denier were offered around RMB 17,500-18,500/ton in the first half of the last fortnight, while those of ASF 3 Denier were offered at 17,200-18,300/ton, which remained stable during the second half of the fortnight.

During the fortnight ending November 15, the prices of ASF 1.5 Den of Taiwan origin were offered at US$ 2.50-2.53/kg, while those of Europe origin were offered at US$ 2.95-3.06/kg, and that of US origin were offered at US$ 3.07-3.17/kg.

The prices of China origin product for domestic and import markets were offered at US$ 2.90-2.94/kg and US$ 2.32-2.37/kg, respectively, during the last fortnight.
