Gold, Silver and three Bronzes for one 2013 FESPA Award Winner boosted a well known business with international recognition.

Chaitya Dhanvia Shah, Managing Director of Marvel Graphic Studio, won a clutch of FESPA Awards in 2013 and praises the difference the awards have made to his family business.

"We create serigraphs that are meant for the masses to enjoy art. The limited edition prints that we produce are affordable art and hence we make immense effort to promote it, and to promote Indian art to the masses.

By getting recognition from FESPA it has made our work easier as it is easy for buyers to understand its importance and hence we have received tremendous response from global markets in addition to Indian markets."

He said that he would not hesitate in telling other printers to enter the FESPA Awards, irrespective of categories.

"Winning an Fespa is a huge honour globally. [But] winning here is not important. What is important is to know your standard amongst the global players, understanding different innovative techniques, the exposure of your work with the eminent judges and much more.

It feels great to be recognized internationally, and by Fespa, it means a lot for our company.  It feels great that the international printing community appreciates your work from around the globe. It makes even more special winning the Fespa.

It is a whole learning process for the betterment of one's business. If you win it, it is more precious than gold."

A screen printing and fine art specialist, Marvel’s range of work includes a variety of techniques in printmaking including wood cuts, intaglios, lithographs and etching serigraphs.

Indeed, such is the quality of this gallery's print services it is credited with transforming the fine art print market in India since the company's creation in 2004.  Competition is likely to be strong from India too in 2014, so prepare for exciting entries from the sub-continent.
