Spanish textile export price index declines 1.5% in Oct'13

The Spanish textiles Export Price Index (IPRIX) for the month of October 2013 shows a decline of 1.5 percent year-on-year, according to the data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
 
According to the INE data, the IPRIX for the overall exports in Spain has also decreased in the month of October by 3 percent compared to the same period last year.
 
The total IPRIX recorded in October is also two tenths lower than the IPRIX registered in the month of September, 2013.
 
The IPRIX in the manufacturing of garments sector also incurred a decline of 1.2 percent in the month of October, 2013, compared to the same month last year.
 
Meanwhile, the Import Price Index (IPRIM) data from the INE reveals that the IPRIM of the textile industry in Spain has also registered a decrease of 0.6 percent year-on-year for the month of October, 2013.
 
The IPRIM registered in the manufacture of garment sector of Spain also dipped by 0.2 percent in the month of October 2013, compared to the same month last year.
 
The overall IPRIM of the Spanish industry also registered a decline of 3.4 percent year-on-year in October, which is four tenths below the IPRIM recorded in September, 2013.
 
The IPRIX measures the change in prices of industrial products manufactured in Spain for export to other countries, on a monthly basis, whereas the IPRIM indicates the monthly changes in prices of industrial products imported by Spain from other countries.
