China's textile college hosts employment fair for students

The Chinese textile educational institute Zhejiang Textile and Fashion College located in the Ningbo city of Zhejiang province recently hosted an ‘employment fair’, a campus recruitment drive for its 2014 year graduates, where more than 300 firms signed employment agreements with the students.

According to a statement issued by Zhejiang Textile and Fashion College, this year the highest numbers of employment agreements were signed during the fair, with over 3,163 graduates of the 2014 year signing deals with firms.

The job fair attracted more than 300 firms, who provided 4,800 jobs, of which 40 percent were textile and clothing related jobs, 15 percent were textile and clothing machinery related jobs and 20 percent jobs under the marketing category for textile and clothing.

Mr. Mao, director of admissions and employment office in Zhejiang Textile and Fashion College, said of the 3,163 graduates in 2014, almost everyone has obtained more than one job offer, and it is not difficult for these students to secure jobs.

According to Mr. Mao, in order to stay afloat in today’s grim job market, the college has been adjusting its major subjects and curriculum to meet the demand of the local economy, which is the reason for the success of the employment fair.
