John Lewis launches Expressions interior collection

Fabric is a key element of each John Lewis interior trend collection. Philippa Prinsloo, design manager, home comments on its role in Expressions, the contemporary trend for Spring Summer 2014.

“Expressions is a creative collection with an artistic heart expressed through bold statements made on linen and soft furnishings, where painterly patterns and imperfect markings evoke a hand-created, ‘from the studio’ feel.

“You can see this in the brush strokes on furnishing fabrics and when photo prints have been used, there is a hazy effect, as though the images have been drawn with a softened lens.”

The Expressions colour palette combines rich blues and purples with complementing greys and a pale pastel pink to create a sense of femininity. Bright pops of spearmint and lime sherbet add a refreshing contemporary twist.

The John Lewis Partnership

The John Lewis Partnership operates 40 John Lewis shops across the UK (30 department stores and ten John Lewis at home), johnlewis.com, 300 Waitrose shops, waitrose.com and business to business contracts in the UK and abroad.  The business has annual gross sales of over £9.5bn.  It is the UK's largest example of worker co-ownership where all 85,500 staff are Partners in the business.
