John Lewis launches Expressions interior collection

Fabric is a key element of each John Lewis interior trend collection. Philippa Prinsloo, design manager, home comments on its role in Expressions, the contemporary trend for Spring Summer 2014.

“Expressions is a creative collection with an artistic heart expressed through bold statements made on linen and soft furnishings, where painterly patterns and imperfect markings evoke a hand-created, ‘from the studio’ feel.

“You can see this in the brush strokes on furnishing fabrics and when photo prints have been used, there is a hazy effect, as though the images have been drawn with a softened lens.”

The Expressions colour palette combines rich blues and purples with complementing greys and a pale pastel pink to create a sense of femininity. Bright pops of spearmint and lime sherbet add a refreshing contemporary twist.
