Pakistan & Spain trade volume crosses $2bn in 3 years

Trade between Pakistan and Spain has witnessed an increase in favor of Pakistan, as trade between the two countries crossed US$ 2 billion over the last three years, reports Business Recorder quoting APP.
 
Trade between Pakistan and Spain during 2010-11 reached US$ 754.5 million, including US$ 571.5 million exports and US$ 183.08 million imports, whereas in 2011-12, trade volume touched US$ 627 million including US$ 490.1 million exports and US$ 137.7 million imports. 
 
Similarly, during 2012-13, the trade volume between Pakistan and Spain was US$ 686.6 million including US$ 527.1 million exports and US$ 159.5 million imports.
 
According to the Ministry of Textile Industry of Pakistan, major items of exports from Pakistan to Spain were articles of knitted apparel, textile products, cotton fabrics, and woven articles of apparel as well as textile materials.
 
In a bid to continue favorable trade ties, especially in textiles, Pakistan has also been engaged in efforts to receive concessional preferential trade packages from Spain since 2012, for increasing trade with the country.
 
Pakistan is also regularly participating in important textile Spanish exhibitions such as International Expo Zaragoza, Textile Hogar and Habitat Fair, in order to further textile trade between the two countries
