Belarusian textile firm to export goods to Denmark, Jordan

The OAO Baranovichi Cotton Production Amalgamation, based in Brest province of the Eastern European landlocked country of Belarus, would be exporting its products to Denmark, Estonia, Jordan and the Czech Republic, according to the Belarusian light industry concern ‘Bellegprom’.

The Belarusian light industry concern expresses that these countries can become new sales markets for the enterprise, reports Belarusian news agency BelTA.

Moreover, according to Bellegprom, this year the products from the textile firm were presented at specialized expos in China and Japan, indicating that the enterprise is also eyeing markets in the East.

Earlier this year, the enterprise shipped a pilot batch of products, around 50,000 sq mts of cotton cloth to Brazil, in order to test the market. If the products sell well in the Brazilian market, the textile firm plans to export up to 800,000 sq mts of cloth per year to the country.

In November 2013, the Belarusian firm invested around US$ 8-9 million for upgrading its production facilities. Although the upgradation process has not yet been completed, the quality of the products has already improved, as per Bellegprom.

At the moment the enterprise’s total output makes up around US$ 50 million. The enterprise expects to reach US$ 80-90 million after the modernization is completed.

The Baranovichi cotton factory was established in 1960 and in December 2011, it was reorganized into an open joint stock venture.

Currently, the OAO Baranovichi Cotton Production Amalgamation is the largest manufacturer of textile products in Europe and the CIS countries. It offers a complete production cycle from cotton processing and yarn manufacturing to the production of ready-made clothes, nightwear, and table clothing.
