With the intention of exploring new trade opportunities and expanding sales in textile and apparel sector, the upcoming textile trade fair of Colombia (Colombiatex of the Americas 2014), would have visitors from the Pacific Alliance nations, comprising of Latin American countries such as Peru, Chile, Mexico as well as Colombia.

According to a statement issued by the Institute for Exports and Fashion (INEXMODA) of Colombia, the textile trade fair, which is scheduled to be held from January 21 to 23, 2014, in the city of Medellin, would have entrepreneurs from the textile and apparel sector of the Pacific Alliance nations, participating in the fair, in order to promote business opportunities.

Carlos Eduardo Botero, CEO of INEXMODA, said that together with Mexico, Peru and Chile, Colombia is working on a deal that positions these countries as a trading bloc in the world market, by leveraging competitive advantages of each of the member nations and approaching markets with existing free trade agreements (FTAs).

According to the INEXMODA official, these member nations have a specific understanding and greater connection to negotiate amongst themselves and unite in order to develop projects to explore newer markets in other countries.

The Colombiatex of the Americas fair would provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to transcend boundaries and find newer ways to appeal to consumers, in order to make their experience of shopping much more than just choosing and paying, he added.

The textile trade fair, would be held under the theme ‘Transcending Boundaries’ and would have around 1,750 international buyers from 28 different countries partaking in the event. Over 8,400 national and 500 international textile and apparel sector entrepreneurs would be displaying their products at the fair.

Colombiatex of the Americas has been the main business hub for Latin America's textile sector for 25 years, and buyers will have the opportunity to source various products including textile raw materials such as chemicals, fibers, linens, cotton and filament yarns, in addition to apparel supplies like buttons, buckles, zippers, laces, lining, woven labels and collars.
