Peruvian exporters manufacturing various products including textile, apparel and handicrafts will be visiting seven trade fairs and business missions during 2014, in order to seek new markets for their goods, states the Peruvian Association of Exporters (ADEX).

According to a statement issued by ADEX, entrepreneurs producing various products would be visiting trade fairs and business missions in Finland, Denmark, Panama, the US, Mexico, Brazil and Japan during 2014.

The objective of participating in these fairs and trade missions is to leave behind the difficulties faced by exporters during 2013, as the main destinations to which Peru exported its products were facing economic crisis, which shrank the demand for Peruvian goods, including textile and apparel, states ADEX.

Peruvian manufacturers of garments and handicrafts would be participating in technology missions in Finland and Denmark, which are scheduled to be held from March 10 to 14, 2014, with the aim of raising the competitiveness and innovation of Peruvian value-added goods from the apparel and handicrafts sector.

From May 12 to 16, exporters of textiles and smart clothing would be attending the technology innovation fair scheduled to be held in Atlanta, in the US, whereas during the second half of the year, the Peruvian textile and clothing entrepreneurs would be visiting Mexico in September, to expand trade opportunities owing to the tariff benefits provided by the country.

During October 27 to 31, manufacturers of various goods including textile, garments and handicrafts would partake in the trade fair for the luxury segment in Brazil, in order to raise the level of competitiveness and innovation of products in the luxury sector

Entrepreneurs producing alpaca textiles and garment products would be visiting Tokyo in November, in order to promote the Peruvian alpaca products in the Japanese market.

Moreover, in 2014, ADEX would also be organizing several trade fairs in Peru in order to promote the Peruvian manufacturing sector, especially textiles and apparel.
