Esquel hosted a media roundtable with Microsoft in ECP office, showcasing Esquel’s rollout of Microsoft’s Office 365 and Yammer across the region, with the latter being considered one of the largest deployments in Hong Kong.

The move not only reduced hardware and administrative costs, but also provided a string of benefits including increased collaboration, productivity and mobility, as well as a unified culture.

Today, enterprise social technology is changing the way people communicate and do business. “A social workplace enables businesses to transform from the inside out through engagement, collaboration and innovation,” said David Hooper, Office Division Director of Microsoft Hong Kong.

“With growing operations around the world, it has always been the company’s desire to create even greater value across the Group through modern social and productivity tools, which can enhance team collaboration, increase productivity, attract young talent and facilitate knowledge sharing and innovation,” said CFO Wilkie.

Esquel has been using yammer since 2010. Not only does it address our communication needs, but also offers us rich team collaboration opportunities as well as constructive feedback and innovative ideas collected from people across the globe, helping us break barriers across cultures, geographies and hierarchies.

In addition to Yammer, Esquel has moved over 7,000 users to Microsoft’s Exchange Online in 2013 as part of the Office 365 deployment. By the end of 2014, we will also migrate to other platforms under Office 365 including SharePoint Online for knowledge management and Lync Online for web-based conferencing.

Through these technologies, we hope to enhance its real-time communications and agility, promoting staff collaboration and facilitate knowledge sharing, to attract and retain talent with a view to maintaining our industry leadership.
