Xinjiang textile industry reaches advanced level

With investment in new projects as well as in technological innovations, the textile industry in China’s Xinjiang autonomous province has reached an advanced level.

From January to October 2013, the Xinjiang textile industry attracted investment in fixed assets of about 3.685 billion yuan. In the whole year 2013, the Xinjiang textile industry is expected to have completed project funding of nearly 4 billion yuan.

The investment includes a 200 spindles yarn production line in Korla Economic Development zone. The project is likely to be fully operational in the second half of 2014, and when fully operational it is likely to become one of China’s largest yarn production bases.

A 50 spindle production line was put into trial production at the end of 2013. In Zhejiang, Arar spinning has invested in a project spread over 20 million sq m for production of towels and other items, and it is largely completed. The implementation of these key projects would contribute to the adjustment of the industrial structure and product structure of the textile industry in Xinjiang, and would also promote the rapid development of the textile industry in Xinjiang.

Meanwhile, in its efforts to promote technological innovation and adjustment of product structure, Xinjiang textile industry has also proposed technology innovation requirements. In 2013, the textile industry in Xinjiang identified 18 technical innovation projects. With the successful development of some of these innovation projects, the Xinjiang autonomous region has reached an advanced level.
