Turkey's Gaziantep to host 3rd PENTEX fair from Feb 20

The southeastern Turkish city of Gaziantep is all geared up to host the third edition of the Combed Cotton, Textile and Technology Exhibition, the PENTEX 2014 fair, scheduled to be held at the Middle East Exhibition Centre from February 20 to 24.
 
According to a statement issued by the Gaziantep Chamber of Industry (GSO), the four-day fair, organized by GSO, would have 150 exhibitors showcasing various products ranging from cotton to garments, garment machineries, yarn, weaving machineries and technologies.
 
GSO President Adil Konukoglu said the objective of the fair is to bring together various textiles and garment as well textile machinery manufacturers under the same roof so that they can get an opportunity to establish business contacts to increase the trade volume and get to see the latest trends and technologies available in the market.
 
According to the GSO official, the textile and apparel industry is very vital for the city with around 998 enterprises operating in the sector.
 
Last year, of the total US$ 6.47 billion exports made from Gaziantep, $1.75 billion exports were from textiles and $127 million exports were from garments.
 
The four-day fair would have exhibitors displaying various products such as combing machines, laser cutting technologies, digital printing machines, fabric dyeing machines and a wide range of textile and garment products.
