PTA prices plunge in Asian markets

Paraxylene (PX) prices declined in Asian markets. In the S E Asian region, PX prices decreased and were quoted in the range of US$ 1305/ton to US$ 1310/ton. In the F E Asian market, PX prices plunged and were assessed at US$ 1280/ton. Prices of PX imported from the Taiwanese market surged and were quoted in the range of US$ 1310/ton to US$ 1315/ton.

Prices of PTA imported from the Taiwanese market remained unchanged and were quoted in the range of US$ 945/ton to US$ 950/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PTA prices decreased and were assessed in the range of RMB 6540/ton to RMB 6580/ton.

Ethylene prices followed a mixed trend in Asian markets. In the S E Asian market, Ethylene prices increased and were assessed in the range off US$ 1395/ton to US$ 1400/ton. In the F E Asian region, Ethylene prices remained unchanged and were quoted at US$ 1400/ton. In the US market, Ethylene prices declined and were quoted in the range of 49.50 cents/pound to 50.00 cents/pound. Ethylene prices remained stable in the European international as well as domestic market and were quoted at US$ 1215/ton and € 940/ton, respectively.

MEG prices increased in Asian markets. In the S E Asian region, MEG prices jumped and were quoted at US$ 965/ton. In the Chinese international market, MEG prices remained unchanged and were assessed in the range of US$ 940/ton to US$ 945/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, MEG prices surged and were quoted in the range of RMB 6875/ton to RMB 6925/ton.

In the S E Asian region, BG PET Chips prices fell and were assessed in the range of US$ 1300/ton to US$ 1340/ton, and some deals were discussed in the range of US$ 1310/ton to US$ 1350/ton. In the F E Asian market, selling offers were quoted at US$ US$ 1320/ton to US$ 1360/ton, while talked prices were between US$ 1310/ton to US$ 1350/ton. In the Chinese market, BG PET Chips prices declined and were assessed in the range of RMB 8550/ton to RMB 8600/ton.
