The 43rd edition of Russia’s International Exhibition of Textile, Garments and Light Industry, the ‘Fashion Industry’ Fair Spring 2014, is all set to begin from March 13, at the St. Petersburg Sports and Concert Complex, in the Russian federal city of St. Petersburg.

Organized by the FAREXPO exhibition firm, with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the government of St. Petersburg, the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and the National Academy of Fashion Industry, the fair is touted as the only trade show for the textile industry in the Northwestern Federal District of Russia (one of the eight federal districts of the country).

Scheduled to run till March 16, 2014, the four-day fair would have more than 300 manufacturers from the textile and garment sector of Russia as well as CIS countries showcasing various innovative products. The fair is expected to gather more than 10,000 visitors from all over the world.

The main objective of the fair is to create a suitable environment for business-to-business (B2B) meetings between textiles and clothing manufacturers as well as fashion exporters, distributors and retailers with international buyers. The ‘Fashion Industry’ fair aims to provide an opportunity for Russian entrepreneurs to establish new business contacts and exchange information with international industry professionals.

During the trade fair, a business program titled ‘Economic Forum of Fashion Industry’ would also be organized, where several industry experts would be discussing topics regarding issues of creating an enabling environment for the promotion and sale of goods of the fashion industry, and the interaction of enterprises and government to analyze the necessity of forming a cluster of light industry in St. Petersburg.

Exhibitors at the show would be showcasing a variety of products such as clothing, textiles, knitwear, linen clothing, fur, leather and leather products, footwear and more.
