Martinson-Nicholls debuts matting to avert slipping in lab

Martinson-Nicholls, a pioneer in anti-slip floor mats for histology labs, has announced their new ViSpa Diamond Deluxe floor matting to prevent slips and falls in medical, chemical and industrial laboratories.

Histology labs routinely contend with the dangers of paraffin wax dropping on the floor, creating extremely dangerous footing situations.

Martinson-Nicholls first solved this issue with their original ViSpa Matting to trap paraffin wax that often builds up on the lab floors. But many customers asked for a lighter version of the mat that would be easier to clean or better accommodate rolling chairs or carts.

The company's new ViSpa Diamond Deluxe is a beautiful two-tone vinyl loop carpet that provides a stylish, yet very effective scraper mat. A distinctive embossed diamond pattern captures wax and keeps it from being tracked throughout the lab. Backed to protect the floor, the durable matting also captures spills and keeps them from migrating.

The mat material holds up to most chemicals used in the lab. Diamond Deluxe can be customized both in terms of size and shape. Edging can be applied on all sides or just the sides exposed to traffic.

According to Dan Ruminski, president of Martinson-Nicholls, "We heard of numerous falls and injuries in labs because of paraffin wax on the floor, and designed a slip-resistant matting that traps wax to prevent it from being tracked throughout the lab."

ViSpa floor mats are suitable for other applications in medical, chemical and industrial laboratories. Made of vinyl, the non-woven, continuous filament-bonded ViSpa matting withstands the constant abuse of foot traffic, paraffin spillage, and most common chemicals.

For cleaning, the matting can be shaken, vacuumed, or rinsed with water. ViSpa Diamond Deluxe anti slip carpet mats are offered in sizes of 3' x 5' or 4' x 6' as well as 3' x 20' and 4' x 20' rolls in three colors.
