The recently held Design Indaba Expo displayed many new and innovative products and local designs were admired by just over 40.000 visitors. Cape Town is the Design Capital of the World for 2014 and this award clearly spiked the interest in the 10th Design Indaba Expo, held at the CTICC.

Cape Wools SA supports the local Merino Wool industry and displayed a range of products from different South African designers, new innovations from AWI (Australian Wool Innovation) and Performance/Leisure wear from Core Merino.

Visitors admired the beautiful wool felt decor items, as supplied by Ronel Jordaan, Peta-Lee and Krafthaus. Hendrik Vermeulen created Merino wool ladies and men’s couture and local design students commented on the versatility of Merino textiles, from light shirt and dress weights, to warm overcoats. Hinterveld Merino wool blankets and Rainafrica’s wool slippers and throws were also on display.

Hand painted Merino wool yarns were shown, as supplied by Cowgirlblues, Karoo Moon, Nurturing Fibres and Colourspun. African Expressions launched a new range of Merino wool blend yarns, which were very well received by visitors to the stand.
