L'Uomo Vogue & Woolmark celebrate collaboration

L'Uomo Vogue, the International Condé Nast magazine dedicated to style and personalities, and The Woolmark Company, the global authority on Merino wool, under the direction of Franca Sozzani Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Italia and L'Uomo Vogue and UN Ambassador of Goodwill, announce a special collaboration: a celebration of style and talent.

Australian wool industry and Italian fashion
To increase the global demand for Australian wool, it is vital for Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) to demonstrate the key role of Australian Merino wool in the international fashion industry. Connecting the world's leading fashion brands with Australian Merino wool is extremely important due to the enormous influence these partners have in setting global textile trends for mainstream retail brands.

Marking the historic connection between Australian woolgrowers and the Italian fashion industry, the initiative highlights two special occasions: the launch by L'Uomo Vogue of a special Australian issue dedicated to Australian heritage and top personalities featuring award-winning Cate Blanchett and Baz Luhrmann on the cover, as well as the 50th anniversary of the Woolmark logo, the brand symbolising quality wool.

"The L'Uomo Vogue Australian issue is a testament to Australian resolve. Despite the disadvantages we face in geography and through our relatively small population, we enjoy global success based on sheer determination, ingenuity and a passion to go above and beyond. That is certainly the attitude reflected across the country amongst our woolgrowers, and they can be proud of this international acclaim," said Stuart McCullough, Managing Director of The Woolmark Company.

"I am so proud of this big project, which celebrates such a vital country, its personalities and its youngest talents - whose creativity will be recognised and rewarded - and its world-renowned wool. The most talented will travel to Italy and be hosted along with their works in one of our greatest events, thus sealing the collaboration between Italy and Australia and confirming the active support we give to young designers from all over the world," says Franca Sozzani, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Italia and L'Uomo Vogue.

World Wide Wool, an unprecedented shopping night in Sydney
