JX Nippon Oil & Energy restarts PX lines

JX Nippon Oil and Energy, engaged in refining and marketing of petroleum and petrochemical products, has restarted two paraxylene (PX) lines after few days of closure.
“The two PX lines were shut down on April 3, 2014, due to some mechanical issue, and these were brought back online on April 8, 2014,” a company official told fibre2fashion.
Both the PX lines located in Chita, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, have production capacity of 200 kt/year each.
JX Nippon does not have any plans for carrying out maintenance turnaround at these lines this year, according to the official.
