Ethylene prices drop in US & Far East Asian markets

Paraxylene (PX) prices surged in Asian markets. In the S E Asian region, PX prices increased and were assessed in the range of US$ 1175/ton to US$ 1180/ton. In the F E Asian market, PX prices inched up and were offered at US$ 1160/ton. Prices of PX imported from the Taiwanese market increased and were assessed in the range of US$ 1170/ton to US$ 1175/ton.
 
PTA prices remained steady in the Asian region. In the S E Asian market, PTA prices kept inert and were quoted in the range of US$ 860/ton to US$ 865/ton. In the F E Asian market, PTA prices remained stable and were quoted at US$ 855/ton. Prices of PTA imported from the Taiwanese market decreased and were offered in the range of US$ 850/ton to US$ 855/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PTA prices remained steady and were assessed in the range of RMB 5975/ton to RMB 6025/ton.
 
Ethylene prices showed mixed trend in Asian markets. In the S E Asian market, Ethylene prices remained steady and were offered in the range of US$ 1460/ton to US$ 1465/ton. In the F E Asian region, Ethylene prices declined and were quoted at US$ 1375/ton. In the US market, Ethylene prices dropped and were assessed in the range of 55.00 cents/pound to 55.50 cents/pound. Ethylene prices declined in the European international market to US$ 1205/ton, while they surged in the domestic market to € 885/ton.
 
MEG prices remained steady in Asian markets. In the S E Asian region, MEG prices kept steady and were assessed at US$ 890/ton. In the Chinese international market, MEG prices declined and were quoted in the range of US$ 880/ton to US$ 885/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, MEG prices remained steady in the range of RMB 6550/ton to RMB 6600/ton.
 
In the S E Asian region, prices of BG PET Chips remained steady in the range of US$ 1340/ton to US$ 1380/ton, and some deals were concluded in the range of US$ 1350/ton to US$ 1390/ton. In the F E Asian market, selling stayed steady in the range of US$ 1360/ton to US$ 1400/ton, while talked prices were assessed in the range of US$ 1370/ton to US$ 1410/ton. In the Chinese market, BG PET Chips prices remained stable and were quoted in the range of RMB 8050/ton to RMB 8100/ton.
 
In the Korean market, FG PET Chips prices kept unchanged and were offered in the range of US$ 1160/ton to US$ 1200/ton. In the Indian market, FOB based prices were assessed in the range of US$ 1230/ton to US$ 1260/ton. In the Chinese market, FG PET Chips prices decreased and were quoted in the range of RMB 7800/ton to RMB 7850/ton.
 
PSF prices remained stable in the Asian region. In the F E Asian market, PSF prices were assessed at US$ 1410/ton. In the S E Asian market, PSF selling prices were quoted at US$ 1310/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PSF prices declined and were offered in the range of RMB 8600/ton to RMB 8650/ton.
 
In the Chinese domestic market, prices of Polyester POY were stable at RMB 8900/ton, while prices of DTY and FDY decreased to RMB 10700/ton and RMB 9300/ton, respectively. In the export market, offers for POY, DTY, and FDY remained steady at US$ 1190/ton, US$ 1440/ton, and US$ 1240/ton, respectively.
