MEG prices continue to show upward trend in Asian markets

Paraxylene (PX) prices surged in Asian markets. In the S E Asian region, PX prices increased and were assessed in the range of US$ 1225/ton to US$ 1230/ton. In the F E Asian market, PX prices declined and were offered at US$ 1205/ton. Prices of PX imported from the Taiwanese market dropped and were offered in the range of US$ 1200/ton to US$ 1205/ton.
 
PTA prices increased in the Asian region. In the S E Asian market, PTA prices surged and were offered in the range of US$ 870/ton to US$ 875/ton. In the F E Asian market, PTA prices increased and were quoted at US$ 865/ton. Prices of PTA imported from the Taiwanese market declined and were offered in the range of US$ 850/ton to US$ 855/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PTA prices inched up and were offered in the range of RMB 6125/ton to RMB 6175/ton.
 
Ethylene prices showed varied trend in Asian markets. In the S E Asian market, Ethylene prices decreased and were assessed in the range of US$ 1445/ton to US$ 1450/ton. In the F E Asian region, Ethylene prices remained steady and were quoted at US$ 1375/ton. In the US market, Ethylene prices increased and were quoted in the range of 53.50 cents/pound to 54.00 cents/pound. Ethylene prices remained steady in the European international market at US$ 1205/ton, while they declined in the domestic market to € 885/ton.
 
MEG prices continued to surge in Asian markets. In the S E Asian region, MEG prices increased and were quoted at US$ 930/ton. In the Chinese international market, MEG prices surged and were assessed in the range of US$ 925/ton to US$ 930/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, MEG prices increased and were quoted in the range of RMB 6725/ton to RMB 6775/ton.
 
In the S E Asian region, prices of BG PET Chips decreased in the range of US$ 1320/ton to US$ 1360/ton, and some deals were concluded in the range of US$ 1330/ton to US$ 1370/ton. In the F E Asian market, selling offers declined and they hovered in the range of US$ 1340/ton to US$ 1380/ton, while talked prices were quoted in the range of US$ 1350/ton to US$ 1390/ton. In the Chinese market, BG PET Chips prices increased and were offered in the range of RMB 8400/ton to RMB 8450/ton.
 
In the Korean market, FG PET Chips prices declined and were offered in the range of US$ 1140/ton to US$ 1180/ton. In the Indian market, FOB based prices were quoted in the range of US$ 1210/ton to US$ 1240/ton. In the Chinese market, FG PET Chips prices kept steady and were assessed in the range of RMB 7900/ton to RMB 7950/ton.
 
PSF prices increased in the Asian region. In the F E Asian market, PSF prices were assessed at US$ 1410/ton. In the S E Asian market, PSF selling prices were quoted at US$ 1310/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PSF prices kept inert in the range of RMB 8675/ton to RMB 8725/ton.
 
In the Chinese domestic market, prices of Polyester POY increased to RMB 8950/ton, while DTY and FDY prices kept stable at RMB 10700/ton and RMB 9300/ton, respectively. In the export market, offers for POY rose marginally to US$ 1200/ton, while DTY and FDY prices remained stable at US$ 1435/ton and US$ 1235/ton, respectively.
