Yarn Expo Autumn 2014 is set to return from 20 – 22 October. The three-day event will be held in hall N4 of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, the same location as last year.

The fair is renowned for helping exhibitors tap into the growing demand for fibre yarn products in China. Consumption of fibres and yarns in the country has risen steadily in recent years, so have imports. According to data released by China Customs, imports of cotton yarn reached 679,000 tons in the first quarter this year, up 4.6% from last year.

“The consumption of yarn products in China is huge. And to meet this demand, we choose to participate in Yarn Expo to keep a strong contact with the customers,” said Rizwan Khan, Deputy General Manager at Marketing of Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Ltd in Pakistan – an exhibitor from last year. “Here we have met with buyers from China, Taiwan and Europe including agents, trading companies and manufacturers,” he continued.

Yarn Expo showcases a wide spectrum of natural and blended yarns including cotton, wool, flax / regenerated flax, and man-made fibres and yarns as well as specialty products including elastic, and fancy and blended yarns.

As many buyers are keen on finding good suppliers in the market, Yarn Expo has become a perfect place for them to pay a visit. “We came here to look for suppliers from India and Pakistan, and the fair was helpful as we could explore new business opportunities. During the show, we found a lot of qualified exhibitors. I will definitely come back next year,” said a Chinese visitor from the last autumn edition, Gao Xing, Sales Manager at Haixing Materials Technology Co Ltd.

Exhibitors confirm participation early to capture the promising Chinese market
After drawing together over 6,000 visitors last year, Yarn Expo has proven itself to be one of the most efficient trading platforms for yarn products in the region. “We have received confirmation from the Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council in India – the co-organiser of the India Pavilion – that they want to reserve space early for their members to showcase the latest cotton yarns and fibres,” said Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd – one of the fair’s organisers. “Pakistani exhibitors also expressed interests in booking booths due to the satisfactory results from the previous editions,” she said.

Held concurrently with other textile trade fairs, namely Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics 2014 from 20 – 23 October and PH Value from 20 – 22 October, exhibitors can benefit from the synergies brought by these two fairs.

Yarn Expo Autumn is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd;The Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; China Cotton Textile Association; China Wool Textile Association; China Chemical Fiber Association; China Bast & Leaf Fibres Textiles Association; and China Textile Information Centre.
