In the Botad market, Shankar-6 prices remained constant at Rs 42,000 per candy for the first three days of the week, but rose by Rs 200 per candy or 0.48 percent to Rs 42,200 on Thursday and closed the week at the same price.

In Mahuva, the market for Shankar-6 closed at 43,500 per candy on Monday, but slipped to Rs 43,000 or down 1.15 percent on Tuesday and remained stable at the same price during the whole week.

In the Saurashtra market, cottonseed prices were quoted at Rs 375 for 20 kgs on Monday and stayed stable at the same price during the week.

According to analysts at fibre2fashion, the main reason for the steady condition in the cotton market was lukewarm buying interest from textile mills and exporters.
