An expected 3,500-plus exhibitors will take part in Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition 2014 as this leading trade event follows on from last year’s record-breaking edition. Domestic and international suppliers of apparel fabrics, trims and accessories will exhibit their latest products in 15 halls totalling 170,000 sqm at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 20 to 23 October 2014.

This year also marks the fair’s 20th edition, with the event having become one of the most important dates on the industry calendar according to Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of fair organiser Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. “Over the past 20 years, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics has developed into a must-attend trade fair for this sector. This event is seen as the leading platform in Asia for overseas companies to tap into the growing potential in the region, particularly from the expanding Chinese middle and upper classes.”

Ever-popular SalonEurope and Milano Unica Pavilion return
European exhibitors in particular are looking to take advantage of this increase in demand throughout Asia for premium overseas products. One of the most visited areas of the fair is always SalonEurope (hall W1), which this year boasts pavilions from France, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and the UK, as well as the Milano Unica Pavilion. The fair is also popular with buyers for its diversity, with pavilions from Asian countries and regions (halls W2 & W3) featuring this year including India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.

Adding to the variety of products on offer are the Group Pavilions (halls W2 & W3) which are organised by leading fibre and yarn organisations such as Cotton Council International, DuPont, Birla Cellulose, Hyosung, Invista, the Korea Chemical Fibers Association (KCFA), the Korea Textile Trade Association (KTTA) and Lenzing. Housed in the pavilions will be these companies’ partner mills who will display the very latest fibre and yarn products and technologies.

Product zones tailored to match industry demand
Intertextile Shanghai is renowned for providing exhibitors with opportunities to take advantage of the latest apparel trends and growth areas, not just in China but throughout the global industry. To that end, this year’s Beyond Denim hall (hall W5) has been redesigned and enlarged to meet the growing demand for denim products – nearly 15% of buyers at last year’s fair were there to source denim. The expanded hall will be revamped by renowned French studio, the NellyRodiTM Agency, with a new energetic and young image, which will highlight wash innovations, new technologies, sustainable practices and a range of premium denim.
