Telangana govt plans 2 new textile parks

The government of the newly-formed Indian state of Telangana is planning to set up two new textile parks in the state, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has said.
 
This was revealed after Mr. Rao held a review meeting with special chief secretary Pradeep Chandra and other officials on the current state of industrial sector in the state.
 
The new textile parks are proposed to be established in Warangal and Sircilla in Karimnagar district.
 
For the Warangal textile park, the land belonging to the defunct Azam Jahi Mills will be utilized, and if necessary more land may be acquired, Mr. Rao suggested.
 
The Chief Minister said Warangal had all the facilities need for setting up a textile park, and the railway junction at Kazipet, which is at a distance of about 10 km from the Azam Jahi Mill area, would be an additional advantage.
 
He suggested that the Telangana Textile Park should be developed on the lines of the existing textile park at Tirupur in Tamil Nadu.
 
Telangana came into existence as the 29th state of the Indian Union on June 2, 2014.
