The upcoming 25th edition of Colombia’s apparel trade fair Colombiamoda, which is due to take place from July 22 to 24, 2014, will include a new catwalk show titled Non-Stop, dedicated entirely to the young designers.

Aiming to give maximum exposure and visibility to the rising talents, the fashion show, which would be held daily on the first hour, would feature creations from nearly four new designers.

In addition to the up and coming designers’ centric runway, the soiree will also feature collections by students from Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina (University Andean Foundation), Colegiatura de Diseño (Tuition Design) and Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana.

Apart from presentations by emerging labels and design students, the apparel trade fair would also see creations from the well-known fashion company Studio F which is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary, and a womenswear collection, inspired from the French Riviera and Martinique island paintings of French Post-Impressionist artist Paul Gauguin, by the Cali-based designer Johanna Ortiz.

Other than the fashion shows and exhibitions, some 22 lectures, based on topics like the importance of cooperation and co-creation, innovation and strategic marketing tactics, will also be hosted on the sidelines of the event.

The main speakers at the lectures will be the business strategist Mauricio Salazar, Marangoni Institute’s Massimo Casagrande, the London College of Fashion’s Edwin Phiri, and Netherland’s Ten Thije who will present his case study on co-creation in Colombia.

Due to be held in the Colombian city of Medellin, Colombiamoda will be organized by the Institute for Export and Fashion of Colombia (INEXMODA).

The trade fair is expected to feature more than 600 brands and would be attended by over 6,000 domestic buyers and about 1,700 foreign buyers from 40 countries.

Additionally, delegations from Portugal, France, England, USA, Ecuador, Peru and Mexico are also going to be a part of the international fair.
