Wujiang in China’s Jiangsu province will build a central business district (CBD) to further promote the transformation and upgrading of Wujiang textile industry cluster development.

Recently, a seminar on ‘How to enhance the competitiveness of the textile industry’ was jointly organized by the China Textile Industry Enterprise Management Association and the China Eastern Silk Market Management Committee to help Wujiang textile enterprises to actively respond to new changes and improve domestic and international competitiveness.

The seminar brought together experts from the China Textile Entrepreneurs Association, textile entrepreneurs and university professors, who discussed how to enhance the core competitiveness of the enterprises to achieve sustainable development, and to seek better development.

The experts said that the textile industry is suffering due to international market downturn, and it is currently in a critical period of economic and social transformation and upgrading, and is facing problems like financing difficulties, environmental pressures, excess capacity, etc. Also, difficulties due to short-term fluctuations cannot be ruled out.

In such a scenario, experts recommended that textile enterprises in Wujiang take initiative to upgrade and continue to strengthen their reliance on technological and management innovation to further enhance the comprehensive strength of enterprises, and actively respond to and resolve a variety of risks and challenges.

Speakers at the seminar put stress on vigorous development of high value-added and differentiated products, as well as development of Internet technologies.

They also agreed to build a national textile industry CBD to further promote the transformation and upgrading of Wujiang textile industry cluster development.
