China's textile & apparel exports jump in July'14

The exports of textiles and apparel from China jumped 18.33 percent to earn US$ 30.347 billion in July 2014, compared to exports worth $25.647 billion made in June 2014, according to the latest Customs data. However, the increase was 9.67 percent on a year-on-year basis.
Category-wise, the exports of textiles, including yarn, fabric and related products, fetched US$ 10.107 billion, showing a year-on-year growth of 5.54 percent, while exports of apparel and clothing accessories earned $20.24 billion, registering a growth of 11.85 percent.
In the first seven months of 2014, China’s textile and apparel exports totaled $162.829 billion, with the textile category accounting for $63.405 billion and clothing exports for the remaining $99.424 billion.
From September 2013 to July 2014, China’s cumulative textile and apparel exports stood at $263.982 billion. Of this, textile exports were valued at $100.272 billion and garment exports at $163.71 billion.
