Final edition of Interstoff Asia Essential wraps up
Oct '14
The Interstoff Asia Essential – Autumn 2014 trade fair held recently and which was the last edition in Hong Kong, concluded with an attendance of around 6,000 visitors from 41 countries and regions.

Organisers of Interstoff Asia Essential – Messe Frankfurt had earlier informed that they have decided to cease holding the fair from next year in Hong Kong, which saw over 45 exhibitors exhibiting in the final edition.

Textile manufacturing and fashion buying offices have steadily shifted from Hong Kong to China in recent years and following these developments, Messe Frankfurt decided to focus all of its efforts in China.

“We believe that by allocating more of our resources into China, the world’s textile manufacturing powerhouse, we can better accommodate our exhibitors’ and visitors’ needs”, Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt had said.

Despite the fair no longer taking place, Messe Frankfurt said it will continue to support the local textiles sector.

“At present, we have plans to help young Hong Kong designers to promote their work at our fairs in the Mainland, where demand for original and creative designs is currently very strong,” it said.

Messe Frankfurt says Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics is an ideal replacement for exhibitors and buyers of Interstoff Asia Essential.

“In Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics, exhibitors and buyers have a ready-made replacement to meet their needs in Asia and boasts a number of features which target the high-end sector of the industry,” the trade fair organiser informs.

“This show is the biggest textile trade fair in the world, and will house over 3,800 international suppliers from 30 countries and regions this year,” it adds.

“In 2015, both the spring and autumn editions of this fair will take place in a new, significantly larger venue, which will allow for future growth in terms of exhibitors and show features,” it notes.

Other two industry trade events – Yarn Expo Autumn 2014 and PH Value – will be held concurrently with Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics this year, bringing more synergy effects to show participants. (AR)
