Asian ethylene plunges last week from weak downstream

Ethylene prices plunged in Asia in the last week ending Oct 31, due to weak downstream and upstream product prices in the region.

In Korea, average prices went down by US$ 65/ton or 4.78 percent and were assessed at 1295/ton in the last week, as compared to its previous week ending Oct 24.

In Japan too, average prices declined by US$ 50/ton and were assessed at US$ 1300/ton in the last week, down 3.70 percent from its previous week.

In S E Asia, ethylene average prices also descended by US$ 50/ton and were assessed at US$ 1280/ton in the last week, as compared to previous week, a decrease of 3.76 percent.

In India too, average prices went down by US$ 50/ton or 3.76 percent from its previous week and were assessed at US$ 1280/ton last week.
