MEG prices dropped in the Asian market yesterday (Dec 1), due to sluggish downstream demand and poor upstream product prices in the region.

Fall in other polyester feedstock prices too contributed to the price decline.

In India, MEG prices were assessed at US$ 805/ton yesterday, down US$ 25/ton from prices at the end of last week.

In China, prices were seen at US$ 800/ton on Dec 1, also lower by US$ 25/ton as against prices towards end of previous week.
