Polyester value chain prices show up trend; PTA drops

Paraxylene (PX) prices increased in Asian markets. PX prices increased in SE Asia, where they ranged between US$ 860 and 865 per ton. In the FE Asian market, PX prices went up to US$ 850 per ton. Prices of PX imported from the Taiwanese market decreased to a range of US$ 855 to 860 per ton.
 
PTA prices plunged in Asia. SE Asian market witnessed a decrease in PTA prices, which ranged between US$ 685 and 690 per ton. In the FE Asian market, PTA prices went down to US$ 670 per ton. Prices of PTA imported from the Taiwanese market went down to a range of US$ 670 to 675 per ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PTA prices increased to a range of RMB 4910 to 4960 per ton.
 
Ethylene prices declined in Asian markets. In the SE Asian market, Ethylene prices declined ranging between US$ 1045 and 1050 per ton. In the FE Asian market, Ethylene prices plunged to US$ 950 per ton. In the US market, Ethylene prices decreased ranging between 41.50 and 42.00 cents per pound. Ethylene prices were stable in the European international market at US$ 1055 per ton, while prices went down in the domestic market to € 880 per ton.
 
MEG prices decreased in Asia. In SE Asia, MEG prices went down to US$ 760 per ton. In the Chinese international market, MEG prices decreased and they were assessed between US$ 780 and 785 per ton. In the Chinese domestic market, MEG prices decreased to a range of RMB 5840 to 5890 per ton.
 
In SE Asia, prices of BG PET Chips remained unaffected ranging between US$ 1085 and 1125 per ton, and some deals were concluded in the range of US$ 1095 to 1135 per ton. In the FE Asian market, selling offers were stable in the range of US$ 1105 to 1145 per ton, while talked prices hovered in the range of US$ 1115 to 1155 per ton. In the Chinese market, BG PET Chips’ prices declined and they ranged between RMB 7350 to 7400 per ton.
 
In the Korean market, prices of FG PET Chips remained unaffected in the range between US$ 985 and 1015 per ton. In the Indian market, FOB based prices hovered in the range of US$ 995 to 1025 per ton. In the Chinese market, FG PET Chips’ prices were stable ranging between RMB 6775 and 6825 per ton.
 
PSF prices plunged in Asia. In the FE Asian market, PSF prices declined to US$ 1125 per ton. In the SE Asian market, PSF selling prices decreased to US$ 1025 per ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PSF prices decreased and they ranged between RMB 7800 and 7825 per ton.
 
In the Chinese domestic market, prices of Polyester POY, DTY and FDY declined to RMB 7950 per ton, RMB 10050 per ton and RMB 7900 per ton, respectively. In the export market, offers for POY, DTY and FDY declined to US$ 1055 per ton, US$ 1350 per ton and US$ 1035 per ton, respectively.
