Chinese domestic market sees fall in VSF & VFY prices

In the Chinese domestic market, prices of Cotton Linter were quoted at RMB 2700/ton in the last week that ended on 2 January, 2015, which were stable as compared to the previous week ending 26 December, 2014. In the last updates from market, offer prices were in the range of RMB 2800/ton to RMB 3000/ton. Trading prices were around RMB 2700/ton to RMB 2800/ton.

Prices of Dissolving Pulp were spotted at RMB 5950/ton in the last week, which were stable from the previous week. Prices of imported Dissolving Wood Pulp were offered in the range of US$ 805/ton to US$ 810/ton. Prices of Pulp imported from the US and Europe hovered in the range of US$ 830/ton to US$ 840/ton and US$ 820ton to 830/ton, respectively, while those from Canada were in the range of US$ 750/ton to US$ 770/ton. Prices of Pulp imported from Sweden were between US$ 805/ton and US$ 810/ton.

VSF prices were witnessed at RMB 11560/ton in the last week, which were down as compared to the previous week. During the week, VSF market opened at RMB 11600/ton and closed at RMB 11550/ton level. In the Chinese market, offers for imported VSF hovered in the range of US$ 1.56/kg to US$ 1.58/kg. Market analysts expect VSF prices to remain steady in the ongoing week.

In the last week, VFY market declined marginally and prices were offered at RMB 35080/ton. VFY market sentiment was stable to soft and there was weak demand from downstream market during the period. Producers kept offers stable in the range of RMB 35050/ton to RMB 35080/ton. In the Chinese market, offers for imported VFY remained stable and were quoted in the range of US$ 5400/ton to US$ 5500/ton.
