Weak upstream leads to Asian ethylene slipping last week

Weak upstream energy prices in the region led to Asian ethylene prices slipping in the last week ending Jan 9.

In Korea, average prices went down by US$ 5/ton or 0.56 per cent and were assessed at 895/ton last week, as compared to its previous week.

In Japan, average ethylene prices also fell by US$ 10/ton and were quoted at US$ 890/ton last week, down 1.11 per cent from its previous week.

In SE Asia too, average prices reduced by US$ 10/ton and were offered at US$ 985/ton last week as against its previous week, a decrease of 1.01 per cent.

In NE Asia, average prices descended by US$ 15/ton or 1.61 per cent from its previous week and were spotted at US$ 915/ton last week.

In India too, average prices declined by US$ 10/ton and were assessed at US$ 985/ton last week, down 1.10 per cent from its previous week.
