BTRA publishes 'Essential checkpoints in spinning'

The Bombay Textile Research Association (BTRA) has released an updated March 2015 version of ‘Essential checkpoints in spinning’.

Owing to their numerous commitments, spinning supervisory staff would not be in a position to inspect in detail each machine and all its settings daily. However, during their round in the department, the technicians can promptly make critical observations of certain vital points, which can be used to detect and rectify deficiencies in the process. They can therefore look for small symptoms that are pointers to serious trouble at a later date.

The latest publication covers essential checkpoints from blowroom to ring frames, which will guide the technicians about some common deficiencies in spinning process and the corrective action to be taken in such cases.

However, the checklist provided in the publication is in no way meant to replace the detailed maintenance schedule of the departments, and it should be treated as a guide for effective supervision, says BTRA.
