SSM names Peter Spiller as ASM of Far East Asia

Switzerland based SSM said it has named Peter Spiller as the new area sales manager of Far East Asia and he replaces Horst Lüchinger, who is going to retire.

In a press release, SSM said, in his position, Spiller will be responsible for the sales and promotion of SSM products in the Far East region.

After graduating as textile engineer from the College of Technology in Rapperswil, Switzerland, he joined Sulzer Rüti, as design engineer.

Later on he moved into sales, where his new function led him to various foreign assignments in the US, Japan and South Africa.

For more than sixteen years, Horst Lüchinger too contributed by developing and establishing SSM’s presence in the Far East region, by pursuing sales leads all over Asia.

In the combined 300-year-old tradition of the Schärer, Schweiter and Mettler companies, which merged in 1989 to become SSM, SSM has always been committed to textile machinery for yarn processing.

In 1999, two other companies joined the SSM Group. Stähle-Eltex GmbH and SSM merged to develop air texturing technology and to strengthen their leadership position in the marketplace.

And with Hacoba as partner, SSM is able to offer a complete range of sewing thread finishing machines and now practically, SSM can offer a complete portfolio to process yarns.

In February 2012, SSM also took over the activities of Giudici S.p.A., Galbiate (LC), Italy, which is in to the field of false-twist texturing of high quality fine count nylon yarns. (AR)
