Japanese computerised knitting machine producer Shima Seiki will exhibit at the Première Vision show in New York which runs from July 21 to 22, 2015.

“On display will be an updated version of the ‘SDS-ONE APEX3’ 3D design system, which is at the core of Shima Seiki’s ‘Total Fashion System’ concept,” Shima Seiki said in a press release.

APEX3 offers comprehensive support of the entire process of knitwear production from planning and design to production and sales promotion, as well as its capability for virtual sampling.

According to the Japanese company, ultra-realistic simulation capability allows virtual sampling to minimise the costly time and resource consuming sample making process while enhancing presentation quality.

“3D simulation allows evaluation of knitwear from all angles, while 3D modeling, 3D mapping and 3D fitting simulation of multiple coordinate items are also possible,” it informed.

APEX3 also supports design and simulation in a variety of other industries such as circular knitting, pile knitting, weaving and printing.

Shima Seiki will also exhibit knitwear produced on its latest line of computerised knitting machines, including the Wholegarment knitwear that features superior fit, comfort and draping characteristics.

Other fabrics on display will include hybrid knit fabrics produced on its SRY machine featuring special weave characteristics. (AR)
