The global authority on colour, Pantone, has introduced 210 new colours for fashion, home furnishings, and interior design. Pantone influenced international trend-spotting intelligence, together with consumer and client colour research from the Pantone Color Institute, to create an improved selection of shades.

The newly launched palette of 210 colours is a reflection of global trends and is addressed to meet requirements of the evolving industry. A sum of 2,310 shades is offered after the latest addition of 210 colours. “The colours that are influencing design today have evolved to reflect shifting societal views, new technological innovations and a truly global outlook,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute in a press release.

“With the ability to interpret the influence of colour on overall consumer psychology, we have enhanced the utility of our Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors Color System to enable the design community to stay on the cutting edge of colour selection,” Eiseman added.

“With the advent of fast fashion, and continued pressure on shortening product manufacturing cycles, Pantone’s off-the-shelf colour system with immediate, global availability is more relevant and economical than ever before,” stated Mitchell Cole, Global Director of Marketing, Pantone Fashion, Home + Interiors.

The orange family includes hot and radiant tones, along with spicy, deeper, and more golden shades. The new hues of blue vary from bright aquamarines to light chambrays, and from classic navies to more ethereal shades emoting calmness. The shades of brown are earthier as well as rich, suitable to the trends in luxury. The new range of purple shades includes vibrant red-based hues, an array of soft mid tones, and mystical shades of the colour.

The new range of colours is developed by Pantone and Huntsman Textile Effects. Huntman’s Avitera Se dyes are a breakthrough innovation which enable dramatic sustainable benefits and enhance colour accuracy in cotton dyeing and cellulosic blends. The freshly introduced 210 colours can be availed in cotton formats at present. (HO)
