In a major bid to promote handicraft products and serve domestic and foreign markets, Morocco and Spain have agreed for a joint venture to promote handicrafts from Tanger-Tetouan and Taza-Al Hoceima-Taounate province.
Under a plan, announced in presence of Adil Douiri, Minister of Tourism, Handcraft and Social Economy, and Planas Puchades, Spanish ambassador to Morocco, Spain will fund up to 35 million and the rest will be financed by APDN (MAD 3 million) and the Ministry of Tourism (MAD 2 million).
This regional development effort having four-year term will cater to the requirements of the handicrafts industry through sector analysis, institutional support, training and perfection, research and commercial promotion.
