Tangier free zone's construction flagged by the King

Mohammed VI, king of Morocco, opened the construction of second part of Tangier free zone extending over the area of 60 hectare and having 140 units resulting in employment generation for 16000 people.
The zone, originally started in 1993, extends over 345 hactare hosts 234 units and employs 27,049 people in sectors such as textiles and leather which account for 22 percent of jobs.
Investment in the zone has shot up to Euro 3.2 billion from 199 million in 1999 as big domestic and foreign ventures started setting up their units here.
