Textiles, clothing & footwear retail sales up in July

According to Statistical Office of Estonia, the retail sales of retail trade enterprises in constant prices grew 19 percent in July 2006 compared to July of the previous year. The retail sales of goods increased in all economic activities.
In July, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises were 3.9 billion kroons. The growth rate of retail sales of goods was faster than in the previous year, when the growth was 12 percent.
Compared to July of the previous year, the retail sales increased in all economic activities.
The retail sales of household goods and appliances, hardware and building materials and also the retail sales in specialised stores of textiles, clothing and footwear increased most - compared to July of the previous year 48 percent and 39 percent, respectively.
Compared to June 2006 the retail sales of retail trade enterprises as a whole stayed at the same volume.
The net sales of retail trade enterprises were 4.8 billion kroons. Compared to July 2005, the growth in current prices was 23 percent, compared to the previous month 4 percent.
In July, the net sales of motor trade enterprises were 3.5 billion kroons. Compared to July 2005, the net sales of enterprises selling motor vehicles and automotive fuel increased in current prices by 28 percent. Compared to June 2006, the net sales of motor trade enterprises decreased 4 percent.
