Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung has approved Vietnam Textile and Apparel Group, (Vinatex) to look for foreign sponsors in order for setting up plans on equitizing the group in 2008, officials from Government office said.
"Vitas and Vinatex should totalize all their operations in order to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, so that they can restructure production, reinforce management mechanism in harmony with international economy integration.", Deputy PM Hung said.
In addition, Hung gave Vinatex nods to rank three leading textile and apparel companies of Vietnam, including Viet Tien Apparel, Phong Phu Textile Corp. and Hanoi Textile Company who would be restructured into State Corporation.
Another important decision released during this is that Nguyen Sinh Hung requested three cities of Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh to support Vinatex with land and others so that the group would establish three centers of supplying materials, accessories for textile and garment industry there.
