China : Xinhui named Chemical Fiber Industry City

After more than a month of evaluation by China Textile Industry Association, Xinhui eventually won the title of ‘China's chemical fiber industry city.’
It is learned that up to date, Xinhui is the only region that has been awarded such an honor in China.
Xinhui region is one of the country's major textile industrial bases, as well as the largest textile fiber production base of Guangdong Province, which has most varieties and highest technical content. In 2005, Xinhui region was awarded the title of ‘State Torch Program textile fiber industry base’.
At present, there were 838 textile and chemical fiber enterprises in Xinhui region, among them, 85 are above-scale enterprises, accounting for 10 percent.
In 2006, industrial output value of above-scale textile fiber industry reached 9.376 billion yuan, accounting for 17.17 percent of the entire region’s industrial output value.
Its Chemical fiber raw materials and products are mainly sold in domestic market, garment products are mainly exported to Hong Kong, Europe, United States, South Africa, the Middle East and other places.
It is reported that the textile fiber industry in Xinhui region has built one state-level test base, one Guangdong test base, two Guangdong engineering technology research, development centers and two post-doctoral workstations. Some of its development of high-tech product has filled national gaps.
