On 25 April 2007, the German Oeko-Tex Certification Centre invites all German companies which hold an Oeko-Tex certificate to a conference at the Airport Conference Centre, Frankfurt.
Among the planned events will be lectures on the global development of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100, the importance of testing the textile components of vehicle interiors for harmful substances, and specific parameters in the list of criteria.
Guest speakers from the Textile Research Centre of the Hohenstein Institutes in Bonnigheim will also talk about current trends in nanotechnology and the testing of functional textiles for effectiveness and safety.
The International Oeko-Tex Association, a grouping of 14 well-known textile research and test institutes in Europe and Japan, with representative agencies and contact offices in over 30 countries worldwide, is responsible for the independent tests for harmful substances according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100.
Based on their individual core competences, the Oeko-Tex member institutes with their broad and varied range of activities provide significant impetus for innovations within the textile and clothing industry.
Together with the manufacturers, they also contribute to a large extent to the development of high quality textile products at all stages of production with their testing system.
