Puma sues cos for imitating brand name

Recently, PUMA from Germany accuses Silver super company for counterfeiting their brand. Puma has taken the issue to Wenzhou city intermediate people court located in Zhejiang Province and the judge ordered silver super to compensate PUMA with 55 thousand RMB.
PUMA one of the biggest producers of gym shoes, entered in China in the year of 1991 and enjoyed a good response from the region. However, in the first half this year, the company discovered that many big scale super markets and stores in Wenzhou area were selling the gym shoes under their brand name.
Observing this, Puma charged 14 super markets and stores and filed lawsuit against these and asked for reparation of about 1.6 million RMB. Few of them have reconciled before going to court.
In the litigation Puma showed that the silver supermarkets were misleading the consumers by branding their name on their own shoes.
