Employment generating policy for textile sector

Government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to establish centers of excellence in textile, service and animation on lines of National Academy of Construction (NAC).

This policy is being undertaken with a view to generate one million jobs by 2009. Together, all the departments yielded 2.50 lakh jobs and by the end of March 2008. It is believed, that an additional 6.72 lakh will be generated to achieve the target of one million jobs.

During a meeting held between officials from various departments, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister assured that funding for training and skill up-gradation will not be a problem. Other attendees on their part gave presentation about how they would meet the set job requirements in the next couple of years.
