CMAI & CSMA together for CSMAS India 2008

In the last two years several Chinese Companies have entered the Indian Market by appointing Agents, setting up Representative Offices and participating at the Machinery Shows.
``The outcome of these Companies has been encouraging. All these activities have been done by Individual Companies and hence the entire Technology and Image of the China Sewing Machinery Industry has not been showcased in the International Markets,'' according to Mr. Tian Minyu, President of China Sewing Machinery Association.
In order to change this position CSMA undertook a study of the Indian Apparel Industry and after several rounds of negotiations with CMAI both the Associations have reached an Agreement to promote the China Sewing Machinery Industry to the Indian Apparel Manufacturers through Mutual Co-peration.
The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) is the pioneer and most representative Association of the Indian Apparel Industry for over four Decades.
It has a Membership base of over 20,000 Companies, including Readymade Garment Manufacturers, Exporters, Retailers and ancillary Industry.
According to Mr. Rahul Mehta, President of CMAI, ``the purpose of holding the Exhibition is to showcase the whole China Sewing Machinery Industry and their Latest Technology to the Apparel Manufacturers and Distributors in India, South Asia and South East Asia.''
Today, CMAI is the only Indian Association that represents the entire Indian Apparel Industry & Trade on prestigious International forums such as International Apparel Federation headquartered in the Netherlands and Asian Apparel Federation headquartered in China.
The Association also acts as a catalyst of change in the industry by interacting with the Government on matters of policies that impact the future of apparel industry.
Amongst CMAI's major achievement for the industry is its immense contribution and lead role in the creation of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) way back in 1978. AEPC regulates the promotion of entire Garment Exports from India.
China Sewing Machinery Association (CSMA) is a Social Institution voluntarily established by enterprises, Institutions and Local Organizations, which are engaged in Production, Sales, Scientific Research, Teaching and Services in 1984.
In China, the Sewing Machine Industry has formed a certain scale and been equipped with a relatively high Technical Level, thanks to its 80-year Development, especially the 30-year Development after China's reform and opening up.
Currently, this Industry has attracted more than 850 Enterprises engaged in Manufacturing complete Sewing Machines, 1,000 Enterprises specialized in producing Spare Parts, near 20,000 Distributors and 250,000 Employees.
