AEPC Chairman meets Tirupur exporters

3. Since Tirupur is already established in the global map as a biggest Knitwear supplier from India and already attained its identity in manufacturing of quality knitwear, Shri. Rakesh Vaid has come forwarded to promote "MADE IN TIRUPUR (INDIA)" as a Trade Mark in the global market.
He also assured to extend all possible support from AEPC since Knit Garment is going to play a vital role in achieving the target of Ready Made Garment Trade.
4. He also assured to upgrade the existing Apparel Training and Design Centre (ATDC) and introduce short term technical courses in Designing and Merchandising.
5. Apparel Export Promotion Council has already established an APPAREL MART consisting of 250 show rooms in the APPAREL HOUSE in Gurgaon near Delhi.
He has also decided to organize the ensuing India International Garment Fair from July 2008 in APPAREL HOUSE AT GURGAON.
6. Shri Rakesh Vaid has also proposed and suggested to construct a similar APPAREL MART in Tirupur after identifying suitable land mainly to promote Knitwear Trade both in International and domestic market.
7. It is also expected and projected that India's Textile and Clothing Trade will be at 160 billion dollars by 2015 and share of clothing will be 60 billion dollars.
Shri Rakesh Vaid said that to meet out the challenges, it is imperative the need of implementing the proposed project so that industry can gear up to meet out the future challenges and achieve the set goals.
Shri N.Chandran, Vice President, TEA offered felicitations to the newly elected Chairman of AEPC. Shri G.Karthikeyan, General Secretary, TEA proposed vote of thanks.
