Vote of thanks by Shri Ambuj Kasliwal, Vice-Chairman, SRTEPC on The Occasion of The Export Award Function on 15th January 2008 At Jamshed Bhabha Theatre, National Centre For Performing Arts, Mumbai:

Hon'ble Union Textile Minister, Shri Shankersinh Vaghelaji; Shri A. K. Singh, Secretary – Textiles, Government of India; Shri J. N. Singh, Textile Commissioner; Shri G. K. Gupta, President, FIEO, Shri Sanjeev Saran, Chairman, SRTEPC; members of the Committee of Administration, members of the Council; ladies and gentlemen.

It is a great privilege for me to propose a vote of thanks on the occasion of the Export Award Function of the Council. At the outset, on behalf of the Committee of Administration and members of the Council, I thank Shri Vaghelaji for taking time off his extremely busy schedule to be with us today and presenting the awards.

I also express my gratitude to Shri A. K. Singh, Secretary – Textiles for gracing the occasion and sharing his thoughts with us today.

I am thankful to Shri J. N. Singh, Textile Commissioner for his presence today and the interest he takes in the activities of the Council.

I also thank Shri G. K. Gupta, President, Federation of Indian Export Organisations and former Chairman of the Council for highlighting some of the problems of the industry.

I am thankful to the senior officials, especially from the Central and State Governments, Customs, DGFT ……….…. They have always been supportive of the Council and proactive in resolving many a procedural problem faced by our exporters. Their presences today have added to the significance of the event.

I take this opportunity to thank all the stalwarts of the textile industry, member-exporters and all other dignitaries for having accepted our invitation and being present.
